The cheque from easyjet has arrived finally!

It took really some time but what I can say to all of you having troubles in a similar case with easyjet baggage claims, is: DON'T GIVE UP.

So I recently got a cheque from easyjet with the original sum of money I claimed. Before, I had to go through the same process of identification as it is described in this blog here.

I sent all the correspondence by registered mail of course but I wasn't backed up by a reference to any consumer defence agency. So keep on your case, the law is on your side! Easyjet should pay at the end...

  2. Hi
I recently went on a trip using easyjet, I had two important pieces of hand luggage, one being my laptop. even though they said on the phone I could take both, when i arrived at the airport they made me put one into the hold (my laptop). And because of this my laptop was badly damaged. The insurers (who are easyjet insurers) say its nothing to do with them, speak to easyjet and now easyjet say its nothing to do with them. How do I go about a complaint as it is like drawing blood trying to get hold of the right people there! cheers

  3. Hi,
normally (with every flight company I ve traveled until now, also Easyjet) you are allowed to take a camera bag (not too large of course) AND a laptop bag BESIDE of your normal hand luggage (which is one peace)... So actually you have three peaces of hand luggage... I had never problems with that. But sometimes you have to be quite straight to get your rights respected when checking in...

I have had the same situation although I reported it the moment we landed it took nearly 2 weeks to get something in writing from the makers of the suitcase - you have to prove that it can't be repaired or have a cost for replacement. All in writing of course which takes time.
We were told by the baggage dept. on arrival that he would log it for us. I am told that as we were outside 7 days it's tough and it's irrelevant that I reported it at the airport!!!!
Worst thing is I work for a major travel agency and send hundreds of people on holiday on Easyjet over their competitors as the 'service' is better. Ha ha that's assuming you don't need help after the event of course!

I will be changing my recommendations to customers in the future that's for sure.

  7. Hy everybody, I must confess I had a different - and positive - experience. My luggage was damaged about 1month ago while back from Berlin (it was supposed to be a cabine luggage, but the plane was full) and I denounced it straight away at the airport desk. I also didn't manage to ask within 7 days (actually their damagedluggages site is pretty complicated),but they accepted my request anyway, and today I receive a new trolley, a really nice one! some brand, new model. that's why I decided to report it here, cause it's also important to share good output. I am not a brand ambassador, so please do not misinterpret my opinion ;)

  8. I am sending tomorrow original baggage tickets, photos of damaged bag and all the other stuff they asked for. My bag looked like someone would dragged it behind the car with 100km/h on clock..for a loooong way:) Bag is destroyed and some of my clothes too.
    Will keep you updated!
